GetYourGuide is the booking platform this site partners with, so read this review knowing that: the prices on every page here come from its live feed, and most of our buttons lead to it. It is also, by a wide margin, the platform with the clearest picture of Maui helicopter tours, because each of its nine listings names the operator that will fly you. This page sets out what the company is, how a booking works, what those nine listings contain, what the cancellation terms say in plain words, and the cases where you should book direct instead. Prices checked regularly.
What GetYourGuide actually is
The website is run by GetYourGuide Deutschland GmbH, registered in Berlin at Sonnenburger Strasse 73 and entered at the Charlottenburg local court under HRB 132059 B; its legal notice names Tao Tao, Johannes Reck and Nils Chrestin as management. The company's own about page says it was founded in Zurich in 2009 by four classmates and now lists more than 150,000 experiences in 12,000 cities; those figures are the company's, not ours.
The line that matters for you is in its terms: GetYourGuide describes itself as an intermediary platform acting as commercial agent for the suppliers. It sells seats on behalf of Air Maui, Blue Hawaiian and Maverick, takes your payment as their agent, and is your point of contact for changes and refunds. It does not own a helicopter, employ a pilot or set safety standards, and its terms say so. The aircraft, the weather call and the weighing at check-in are the operator's, exactly as if you had booked direct.
How a booking works
Pick the listing, choose a date and the number of participants, and the availability calendar shows the starting times the operator has released. The Air Maui listings ask for accurate body weight at checkout and spell out the comfort-seat thresholds, so read our weight guide first if anyone in your party is near the thresholds (240 lb doors on, 230 lb doors off, for a single passenger). Several listings offer "reserve now, pay later", which holds the seat with nothing charged today; otherwise the card is charged at booking. The voucher carries the meeting point, which for every Maui flight is the Kahului Heliport next to Kahului Airport (OGG), and the operator's hangar details.

The Maui helicopter catalogue
Nine helicopter listings, three operators. Prices are per person from the live feed; the operator is the activity provider named on each listing (read from archived copies of the listing pages, since the live pages block automated reading). The cancel-by column is the wording on those listing pages; our feed does not carry it, so check the line on the listing before you pay.

| Doors Off West Maui and Molokai | Air Maui | 45 min | Off | $451.99 | 4.8 (45) | 24 h |
| West Maui and Molokai Special | Air Maui | 45 min | On | $395.99 | 5 (9) | 24 h |

| 3-Island Hawaiian Odyssey | Maverick | 65 min | On | $3,353 | 4.6 (6) | 3 days |
Two notes. The doors-off listing is the only open-door product on the platform; the listing itself says it is not suitable for children under 10, matching Air Maui's own rule, even though the feed reports no minimum age, so go by the listing. And the three Maverick listings are labelled "per person" in the availability frame at prices five to seven times Maverick's own per-seat rates for the same routes; we show the live price because that is the rule of this site, and we tell you to read the inclusions before treating them as comparable. Our private charter page discusses them as premium products.

Cancellation and weather, in plain words
GetYourGuide's general terms set a default: cancel more than 24 hours before the start for a full refund of the booking price; cancel inside 24 hours, or fail to show, and there is no refund, unless the listing, the operator's terms or your voucher say otherwise. The Air Maui and Blue Hawaiian listings carry that 24-hour rule. The Maverick listings we could read said three days. All changes and cancellations go through the platform, and what counts is when GetYourGuide receives your notice, so do not rely on a phone call to the hangar.
Weather is the other case. The terms allow the supplier to cancel for adverse weather without the standard notice, and say the booking price is then refunded. Pilots on Maui make that call on the day, usually offering a later slot first; if you cannot take one, the refund goes back to your card or, if you choose, to a GetYourGuide refund gift card. The terms also state that the booking price includes no insurance, and that GetYourGuide's price "may be higher than the prices charged by Suppliers" elsewhere, which brings us to the real comparison.
GetYourGuide vs booking direct
On the day we checked, Air Maui's own site showed $429.99 for the doors-off flight and $369.99 for its two 45-minute doors-on tours, according to airmaui.com; the same flights are $451.99 and $395.99 on GetYourGuide, a gap of $22 to $26 a seat. Blue Hawaiian showed $419 for its 50-minute flights and $559 for the Spectacular with landing, according to bluehawaiian.com, against $459 and $611 here: $40 to $52 more. Our prices page keeps the full table.
What you get for the difference is the cancellation window. Air Maui's tour pages allow no refunds or rescheduling within 48 hours; on GetYourGuide the same seat can be cancelled up to 24 hours before. Blue Hawaiian's own policy is already 24 hours, so there the platform's advantage is convenience: one account, one voucher format, a reserve-now-pay-later option, and a price-match clause in the terms that refunds the difference if you find the identical flight cheaper with the same operator. Book direct when your date is fixed and you want the lowest fare, when you want Pacific Helicopter Tours, which is not on any platform, or when you want an Air Maui product the platform does not list, such as its 60-minute flights.

How it compares with the other places to book
Viator lists the same operators' seats under Tripadvisor's brand with a similar 24-hour standard policy; we could not read its live prices. Costco Travel and Groupon are worth a look only if a current Maui helicopter deal is listed when you check; those reviews explain what each discount really is. Activity desks such as Adventure Maui resell the same aircraft at agency rates and add a phone number to call. Whichever route you take, the four operators reviewed on our operators hub are the ones who actually fly.
Our call
Book the 45- and 50-minute flights on GetYourGuide if flexibility matters more than $22 to $52: you get a 24-hour cancellation window where Air Maui's own site gives you 48 hours, and one account for every operator.
The same Air Maui and Blue Hawaiian aircraft fly the same routes whether you book direct or through the platform; the differences are the cancellation deadline, a reserve-now-pay-later option and a modest price gap. GetYourGuide's terms also make it, not the operator, your point of contact for refunds when the pilot cancels for weather.
Skip it if you are certain of your date and want the lowest price, or you want a private aircraft, where Pacific Helicopter Tours' direct rates undercut the platform's premium tier by a wide margin.
Check doors-off dates from $451.99Questions pilots get asked
Who actually flies a Maui helicopter tour booked on GetYourGuide?
The operator named on the listing's activity provider line. The three 45-minute flights are Air Maui Helicopters, the 50- and 90-minute flights are Blue Hawaiian Helicopters, and the three premium listings are Maverick Helicopters Hawaii. GetYourGuide's terms describe it as an intermediary platform acting as commercial agent for the supplier; it operates no tours.
Is GetYourGuide cheaper than booking direct?
No. On the day we checked, Air Maui's site showed $429.99 for the doors-off flight and $369.99 for its 45-minute tours against $451.99 and $395.99 on GetYourGuide; Blue Hawaiian showed $419 and $559 against $459 and $611. GetYourGuide's own terms say its price may be higher than the supplier's.
What is GetYourGuide's cancellation policy for helicopter tours?
Unless the listing says otherwise, cancel more than 24 hours before the start for a full refund; inside 24 hours or a no-show, no refund. The Air Maui and Blue Hawaiian listings carry that 24-hour rule; the Maverick premium listings we could read required 3 days, so confirm the line on the listing before you pay. Cancellations must be made through GetYourGuide, not by calling the heliport.
What happens if the pilot cancels for weather?
GetYourGuide's terms let the supplier cancel for adverse weather without the normal notice period and say the booking price is refunded. In practice the operator usually offers a new slot first; if you cannot take it, the refund goes back to your payment method or, at your choice, to a GetYourGuide gift card.
Do I need to enter my weight when booking?
The Air Maui listings ask for accurate body weight at checkout and state the thresholds at which an extra comfort seat must be bought: 240 lb single or 420 lb per couple doors on, 230 lb or 400 lb per couple doors off, and any passenger over 250 lb on the doors-off flight. Blue Hawaiian and Maverick weigh you at check-in. Our weight page has every rule.
Are the $2,303 to $3,353 listings really per person?
That is how GetYourGuide labels them in its availability frame, and it is the price we show because it is the live price. Maverick's own site lists the same routes from $399 to $499 a seat, so the platform listings appear to be a different, premium product; read the listing's inclusions before you compare or book.
Does this site earn money when I book on GetYourGuide?
Yes. Our links carry a partner ID and GetYourGuide pays us a commission on completed bookings. You pay GetYourGuide's listed price. We list operators that are not on the platform, such as Pacific Helicopter Tours, and tell you when booking direct is the better deal.
