About this guide: who writes it and how prices are checked

What this site is

maui-helicopter.tours is an independent guide to helicopter tours on Maui: the routes flown from the Kahului Heliport (and the flights people search for that no Maui operator schedules, such as a sunset flight or a Big Island volcano tour), what each one shows you, what it costs, the weight and age rules that catch people at check-in, when the sky is usually clearest, and reviews of the operators, booking platforms and content sites you meet while researching.

What it is not

We are not Air Maui, Blue Hawaiian, Maverick, Pacific Helicopter Tours or the former Sunshine Helicopters. We are not the Kahului Heliport, the Hawaii Department of Transportation, the Federal Aviation Administration, Haleakalā National Park or GetYourGuide. We do not operate flights, take reservations, hold bookings or handle refunds. If you have booked a flight, your contract is with the operator or the platform you paid; our contact page explains who to call.

How prices get on the page

Every partner price on this site comes from GetYourGuide's product feed, in US dollars, per person, exactly as GetYourGuide lists it. A script refreshes the feed and rewrites the price tables and product cards; the stamp at the bottom of every page shows when that last happened. We never type a partner price by hand.

Operators' direct prices are different: they come from the operator's own website on the day we checked, and every one is attributed in the text ("according to airmaui.com"). Prices are checked regularly, but a price you see here is a snapshot, not a quote. The live number is always the one on the booking page.

How facts are checked

Weight limits, minimum ages, aircraft types, seat counts, doors-off availability, routes, landing sites, founding years and cancellation terms are taken only from the operator's official site, the FAA, Hawaii DOT Airports, the National Park Service or the Code of Federal Regulations. Each page lists its official sources at the bottom. We keep an internal log of every fact with the URL and the date it was checked, and a second editor re-verifies before a page goes live. Where we could not confirm something, the page says so ("the operator does not publish a per-seat limit") rather than guessing.

Client briefs, older guides and forum posts are treated as leads, not facts. Several well-known claims about Maui helicopter tours turned out to be out of date when we checked the official pages; where that happened, we say what the current page shows.

How we earn

This site is funded by affiliate commissions from GetYourGuide, our only partner. When you follow a link marked as a partner link or a "Check dates" button and later book, GetYourGuide pays us a commission. The price you pay is the same as on GetYourGuide directly. We earn nothing from operators, from other booking platforms, or from any company we review, and no operator has paid for placement, edited a review or seen it before publication. Where booking direct is cheaper or offers something GetYourGuide does not, we say so on the page.

No invented anecdotes; we do not describe flights we did not take. No promises about weather, waterfalls or wildlife. No safety rankings of operators; we describe the regulatory framework and what a passenger can check. No content tied to a year; every page carries its own updated date instead. American spelling, plain numbers, and the operator's own words for its rules.
